Working with an executive coach is an intense, personal leadership
journey for talented people. These gifted leaders are expected
to assume multiple roles in influencing others, building commitment
and directing change. Consequently, our executive coaches help
leaders clarify their key organizational roles and their critical
competencies for those roles, they help assess the executive’s
ability to perform his or her roles, and they help the executive
leverage their unique style to develop greater leadership effectiveness.
What can you expect from us when we
work with you as an executive coach?
- Perspective – because of our experience
in senior level positions at high performance organizations
and from twenty years of consulting with Fortune 500 companies
and large government agencies, we offer time-tested expertise
and a results oriented perspective.
- Confidentiality – it is our law
of the jungle—we never break confidences.
- Candor – we provide honest, realistic
and challenging feedback. You will never accuse us of
perpetuating the ‘emperor has no clothing on’
syndrome.
- Rapport – we know how to connect
with executives and create a trusting environment where
learning can occur.
Executive Development and Coaching Process
Today’s tough organizational decisions
are almost always people decisions,

particularly identifying key leadership talent
and then developing those individuals. Moreover, successful
leaders recognize that building leadership capability represents
one of the key competitive advantages in today’s warp
speed business environment. Thus, the critical need for
capability-laden organizations has never been greater.
The Executive Development and Coaching process
is a powerful set of actions designed to identify high-leverage
improvement needs, create customized development plans that
will build critical success competencies, and provide ongoing
coaching to ensure the successful implementation of the
plan. Our mission is to partner with your organization to
build leadership effectiveness and change management capability.
- The in-depth assessment and 360-degree
reference interviews are aimed at identifying and evaluating
the executives’ strengths, development needs and
potential.
- The development report summarizes the
results of the interviewing process and includes an
executive summary, career background, strengths and
development needs, and detailed development recommendations.
- Feedback and coaching provide a candid,
"perspective-based" discussion of assessment
results and a joint exploration of the development recommendations.
On-going coaching, an integral part of the process,
ensures significant improvement.
Our executive coaches are among the most successful
and experienced executive in America. They use a holistic
and personalized approach to understand the overall strengths
and weaknesses of each client. Their coaching philosophy
is grounded in the belief that each leader has a set of
unique leadership styles. The goal of executive coaching
is to identify and strengthen each leader's primary, secondary,
and developing styles. Building a leader's capacity to effectively
use these various leadership styles will dramatically increase
overall productivity, create strong employee commitment,
improve promotability, and enrich workplace relationships.
In addition to improving each client's leadership
styles, we help develop executive presence. The ability
to communicate confidence and credibility is critical for
successfully leading a large group or organization. Executive
presence is a charismatic quality that motivates others
to work toward a common goal. Through strategic fine-tuning
of an executive's communication and leadership patterns,
he or she can acquire the needed presence to rally his or
her people around a united vision and expertly direct change
efforts.
The following are the four areas in
which we build and strengthen executive capability:
- Leadership Effectiveness: Build the
client's ability to get results, be strategic, and build
their people's capability. Efforts are designed to help
the client create a sustainable leadership culture.
- Executive Communication: Improve an
executive's persuasiveness, clarity, and confidence
in large group gatherings, high-level presentations,
one-on-one settings, media interviews, and press conferences.
- Change Management: Instruct the leader
on the critical success factors for leading a change
initiative: (1) focus, (2) commit, and (3) execute.
The key roles that a change leader must assume and the
tools that accelerate the change process are also explored.
- Change Communication: Develop an executive's
capacity to effectively communicate while leading a
change effort. Change leaders are taught how to create
and execute a communication plan, gain employee commitment,
and manage resistance.
Our Executive Development and Coaching
Process is uniquely designed to accelerate the leadership
development of:
- Senior-level executives being developed
to take on new or expanded roles and responsibilities.
- Leaders needing developmental fine-tuning
or interpersonal re-calibration.
- Talented executives wanting to sharpen
particular leadership skills or selected by top-management
for development opportunities.
- Key technical individuals being developed
to move into general manager roles.
